Fleshbot, a highly popular Gawker site, just ran a quick story about the viral marketing Doubleday has unleashed to promote Chuck Palahniuk's upcoming novel Snuff.
It's nice to see the efforts of all beging recognized like this. Like I said, I've never seen marketing like this for a book release before, and I'm thrilled that it seems to be working.

As I Lay Mostly Dying

Everybody loves to badtalk the adverb, and I’ll usually jump right on that bandwagon. Except then, right in the process of jumping, I’ll realize I’m gleefully jumping, or blindly jumping, or some kind of –ly jumping — which is to say I hit a wall in my prose that I can only get over with that lolly-lolly adverb, as packing all the color into the verb’s going to draw just stupid amounts of attention to that particular sentence, when, really, it’s just one of those get-me-to-the-next-room sentences, no need for the spotlight, thanks.
ESPN Story On Real Fight Clubs
Here's a video story ESPN.com did on real fight clubs. It chronicles a group of Sillicone Valley workers who meet regularly to do you know what. Prepare though: This isn't what you'd immediately imagine in your head when you hear 'fight club' and think of the movie. I dare say, this looks a little ridiculous.
CHOKE Playing At The Brooklyn Academy of Music Festival
Screenings of Choke have begun popping up. It's movie festival season, so I need you all to keep things under your radar, as you never know when Choke will end up in a city near you. Thanks to Patrick DiDomenico, we know that Choke will be screening at the BAM Festival (Brooklyn Academy of Music) on June 5th and June 7th.
The official theatrical release for Choke is August 1st, 2008.
