New Member's Welcome Center

Should I join The Cult?

No, you shouldn't.

they forums are awful.
And for the love of God, don't pay for a premium membership for the workshops. they haven't been functional for the past 11 months but there's nothing on the sign up page about it and you'll throw your money away if you do.

Good luck.

Hi there

Hey everybody, didn't really do much lurking before I joined considering I wasn't exactly new to Chuck Palahnuik's books. I've read Fight Club, Haunted, Stranger Than Fiction, Invisible Monsters, Rant, Survivor, Lullaby, and Diary. I really did love them all, but my favorites were Fight Club, Haunted, and Diary.

Anyway, a smidget about me: I'm from Hawaii, but currently going to school in Santa Rosa, California. I'm also 18 and an art major.

Welcome to myself, now you do it.

Well hi, my name is Tommy and I'm living in Sweden. I'm here because I like reading and writing. And this forum caught my eye. Looks like a very constructive place to be if I want my writing to evolve. Well, greet me welcome now.

ola been lurking since...

ola

I like chuck palahniuk's books a lot. The first i read was fight club. i picked it up at the library and couldnt put it down, then i started googling it because i had a brand new obsession and stumbled upon this site so cutting the story short ive been lurking around here since adam and eve or whatever but was too lazy to make a profile and to shy to start a thread or whatever but two years later, here i am, starting a thread that eventually will have no replies whatsoever.

anyway, i'm from portugal and im sorry about the poor grammar and such

And God said, "Let there be ME"

Hey guys, I was looking up Palahniuk and stumbled across this site. Considering this site had a forum and Chuck is now my new gateway drug I decided to join.

Also I was hoping to find some new books to read from this site, because what better way to find literature than from people that share your addiction.

Brand New.

Hello everyone.
I've just got a question based solely on opinion.
I read "Choke", then "Fight Club", followed by "Diary", and most recently "Haunted".
Where should I go from here? I was thinking of "Invisible Monsters", but I don't know.

Any adivce?

New Guy

Hey everyone!

So yeah, I'm new to the Cult and am just feeling my way around. About me: I live in Cocoa Beach, Florida (yes hurricaines are a pain in my ass), I go to school at the University of Central Florida, and in my free time (what little of it there is) I am attempting to write a book.
Anyway, glad to meet you all.
See ya round!

Greetings from London!

Hi guys

I've been a huge fan of Chuck's since I saw the Fight Club movie and thought it was the first time I'd ever seen a film which actually felt like the experience of reading a novel. So obviously the logical thing to do was go and hunt down the book. After that I was hooked. I laughed out loud when I read the opening paragraph of Survivor - has there ever been a more gripping opening paragragh?
Anyway, I'm a UK, London-based music critic and first-time novelist. In fact one of the characters in my novel 'Etc Etc Amen' mentions Chuck's 'Choke' in the context of an unlikely coincidence involving Jesus's foreskin - but that's another story! For now I'm just saying hi and congratulating you on what a great vibe you've got going here.

Cheers

Howard

Helllooo

How's it going everyone? First posts are always awkward, so I'll end it here.

Thanks,
Rob

I can't find my glasses

I'm new here and yes, I do realize the risks of making a first impression whilst hardly able to see what I am actually typing but sometimes you just need to grab your balls and jump into the deep end to cause a stir, right? Or am I simply making such a trivial task as introducing myself on a forum into something more than it should be? Whichever the case may be, it doesn't change the fact I fear I have lost my glasses again and that, my friends, strikes a chord in my heart that freezes it over like a popsicle.
