Hey everyone,
We're doing some late Summer renovations at The Cult and one of the sections we would like to improve upon is our Book sections. We never had a great Quotes addition to each book section. Rather, I had to do outside links to other
Choke the audio book
"Choke" the audio book, read by the author. You have to listen to it. With Chuck narrating in his distinctive voice and inflections it is laugh out loud funny. I really want to watch the movie, but live in the boonies. But the audio book may in fact be better because of Chuck's reading. It has a permanent spot on my ipod. By the way, do we know when the movie will come out on DVD?
You can get the audio book from Audible, which is linked with Amazon.com.
Loved this, my next chuck book is...
OK so I just finished Choke and loved it. The style was great and it was just insane. I loved how out there and incredible this book is. I have now read Haunted, Survivor, Rant, and Choke in that order (read em all during the summer, I spent much of late nights reading rather than stupidly wasting my time watching tv or surfing the web, it felt great doing something). And after reading the last 3 I have to say I now dont like haunted. Im glad i liked it when i read it or I may have never continued reading. Out of the last 3 I dont know which I like the most but I would maybe have to go with Rant, the twist is insane thats all. Im looking into getting another chuck book.
the last chapter
i need some help understanding what happened in the last chapter of choke, i was kindof confused by the falling rocks and what not
Just wondering. . .
According to Wikipedia, "Much of Palahniuk’s research on Choke was conducted with total strangers at the gym and sexual addiction groups."
Anyone know how he managed to get into a sex addiction meeting without actually being a sex addict?
I've never heard of any that were open to the public.
Or maybe that statement is incorrect?
Loved Choke and Fight Club - What next?
Hey guys. I'm new around here... I've been a along time fan of Fight Club (the movie) and I didn't know it was a book until recently... I pretty much hate reading... But I read Fight Club and I loved it... So then I picked up Choke (before i knew there was a movie being made), and I literally just finished it a moment ago, and it was absolutely fantastic. What's the next book I should read?
Chuck is the only author to actually get me to want to read. I've never had that "dont-want-to-put-the-book-down" feeling until his work. I'm pretty psyched about Snuff and Pygmy as well... but til then, what's next?

I find that great works are able to become subconious, working its style its thoughts into your everyday. Tell me about the great works that flow subconciously into your words thoughts or dreams. I'll start:
I was discussing my thoughts on political belief and used a refernce to choke in my reply couldn't recall of hand where it came from at first only after i sent out the reply did i discover it was a quote often used in choke. I was happy to think this work which i only read weeks ago has already become a subconious extension of my thoughts.
