So what happen at the end of the book?

they all walk back into the theater and Whitter stayed outside?

Why did the nightmare box girl went to the theater(1st group) also?
Why would she have all the cuts and stuff if she didn't have a care in the world to be famous like the 2nd group?

So ladybag lady killed herself for what? She could have killed herself out side the theater days before. . . . why would she choose to "hide" here and then killed herself off like that?

Anyway .. . lots of questions.

I do like the book, but a bit lost by how all these ppl happens to have lust for fame and willing to "hurt" themselves so much.

The line that sticks out is when the NIghtmare Box Girl, who is Mrs. Clark's daughter, Cassandra, says something to the effect of "I'm no longer obsessed with my own pain." Basically, that's what Mr. Whittier is trying to help people to do.

In the end, Mr. Whitter and Miss Sneezy found something greater than their pain: their shared experiance of a youth crippled by illness. Saint Gut-Free and Mother Nature kill Miss Sneezy and drag her back into the theater to keep her from moving on with her life, the thing all the characters were afraid to do. At the same time, they are inflicting harm on Mr. Whiittier who they perceive as the external manifestation of their internal inability to put the past behind them and move on.
