Don't tell her! ~~~***~~~ Prensa can't see this
This forum is set up to organize the first cult "baby shower" for ms Prensa. Yes, many culties have children already (and we salute you!) but this is the first cult baby, concieved on site, more or less. (You get what I mean)
Lets send her a big baby gift basket from everyone. Or if you are sending your own gift, please post here so we don't send too many of one thing!
Any ideas are welcome. The most important thing is we have only 5 weeks left.

I was planning on finding a copy of "Pat the Bunny" to send to her. She never had that as a kid, can you believe that!? She didn't know what it was til I told her. Travesty.

I was recently thinking about this very thing, so I'm glad you organized it, mirkah. Does this mean you'll collect money and send the basket on everyone's behalf? I immediately thought of a pair of baby Chucks when she recently posted that thread, but I'm sure she could probably use just about everything. Anyway, just let me know where I can send some money for my share.

Jane and I were talking about this before, but we didn't know how to do it because we don't have her address. I guess Mirkah has it. Do you think we should send things to one place to get it all together and send at once? Or did you want to go online and find a bunch of baby stuff from one place and have everyone chip in? A lot of people think gift cards are dull but sometimes they are the most useful for food and diapers and stuff like that, things that she would have to buy frequently.

No, I am not going to post her address! If you want to send something directly to her, PM me for the address.

Prensa [I]hates [/I] gift cards so we're in a bit of a bind there. I like the idea of finding a bunch of baby stuff online and having people chip in. That might be the easiest and fastest way. (I waited until practically the last minute to post this, sorry).
If we go this route, I think anyone that wants to send her something individually should. And everyone that chips in for a group gift could maybe make her a card (or buy one) that has a cool personal message for her and the baby. Those could be sent in one big box strewn with hershey kisses and some baby trinkets.

Amazon is a great idea! I checked for a wishlist under her real name and her registered email with no luck. Do we want this to be a total suprise? Or should we raise money and then tell her to start a wishlist at amazon?

I think we should send alot of diapers and diaper coupons, among alot of fun/cute and other things as well.
everytime i talk to mothers with babies they bitch about diapers, not having enough, and them being expensive.

I have an idea that might be kinda fun, but I don't know, you tell me...
If we got her a bear, or some stuffed animal thingy, something that can wear a little t-shirt and still look cute and cool and stuff, and we try to get the bear via mail to as many cultists as we can, and have everyone sharpee a message of love for Prensa on the shirt, and then ship it off immediatly to the next Cultie...I mean, it could totally go to shit, but I'd imagine if it worked, we could get a good amount of Cult-love drawings and writings on the bear before it's time to ship off to her...I don't know, what do you think?!

Ok, but someone needs to find out what kind of diapers she plans on using, disposable or cloth.
Also, everything does not have to be sent to me. If someone else wants to put the package together, we can send cards and gifts to them. (I'll cover the shipping for the big ass box to Prensa!).

no way that would work in 5 weeks you might get 4 or 5 people signed
anyway, for those of us with no baby/mommy present buying knowledge can we just donate and let one or two of you motherly type people decide what to get ?

I think its a cute idea and thoughtful BUT I don't think we have enough time to pull it off.
Babies are really expensive and messy (you have to change their clothes all the time because of spit ups and vomits and explosive poops) so we should send her a good mix of fun, cute and useful stuff.

I set it so she can't view this forum. I'm assuming she can't see threads that mention her if they are in this forum. (I'll do a test now to double check)

I think I'll be plenty relaxed after the baby's born- don't worry bout it! Prensa's the one who'll need the help... sleepless nights and such. Not I said the cow. Bubble bath and the like would be muy relaxing- I'm gonna be able to sleep.
