Tour Dates - Stranger Than Fiction!
Emily Montjoy, Chuck's new publicist over at Doubleday was nice enough to mail me a pristine hardcover of Chuck's next book, the non-fiction anthology Stranger Than Fiction, in the mail today. I must say, this is probably the best looking cover I've seen on a Chuck book yet. Simple yet haunting.

actually, i meant fuck tha west coast, because that's the only place he's visiting. my brain was backwards for a second. also: affluent? i sleep with half a pool cue under my couch and a knife in my pocket.
how's that foot taste?
EDIT: people who delete their posts from a conversation are fucking idiots and cause too much extra typing and should just leave. i'm talking about the assfuck above me. this is the 2nd time someone did it. you make my head hurt.
Maybe it's just me, but the fun of having an autographed copy is actually GETTING the autograph.
I'm totally making a special trip to Portland for this signing!

denvers sux he needs to come to boston. i don't live there but he needs to go there anyways. wait no i do live there! yay! wait he's no coming here! damn! well a little false hope always brightens up my day.
i'm gonna eat your children!
Yeah meeting the author when they sign your book is great and all... Well I'll see Chuck in Chicago at the Book Expo and I'd feel bad if I had a stack of books to be signed so if I can get a friend in Eugene to get Stranger Than Fiction signed... It's all about spanning the signings out, that way I don't contribute too much to Chuck's super-cramped hand.
Mind if you enlighted a confused soul like myself as to why you think the cover is creepy?
Go find Chuck's bio on this site. Read about what happened to him as a child, then the cover will make more sense to you.

"This ain't goodbye, just au revoir....motherfucker."
The only thing I could find in the bio that sort of made sense is that Chuck sometimes takes his shoes off before reading before an audience.
But that's not creepy. And it doesn't have to do with anything that happened to him as a kid...
Bah...

I am definitely going to try to get to Washington around that time, so who knows; I may get to meet Chuck. Or at least hear him read.
Ok I think I get it. Something to do with Chuck's father witnessing the murder of his grandmother by his grandfather and hiding underneath the bed to not get caught?
DING DING DING!!
Give the man a prize! That's exactly it!!
If I remember right, the view from under the bed was a dirty pair of work boots and the end of shotgun dragging on the floor. For obvious reasons, they left that bit off the new cover!

Awesome! It's a great record! Some pretty good electronic tracks!
The reason that coconut statement stood out is because my old music store staff and I used to say that all the time in the store! Too funny!

so what about us illiterate folk in N carolina
I mean Damn we can read good too,
Hey guys,
Just a reminder, b/c it's been said many times before. This tour was never going to be a big one. Chuck is still recovering from his back to back Fugitives & Refugees and Diary tours. And Doubleday has his biggest tour planned yet for the 2005 release of Haunted. So if you can be patient, you've got a much better chance of seeing Chuck for that book.
