A Sequel??

Wow. This little thread got CRAZY. People telling me to abuse my girlfriend, people showing an alarming lack of respect for women as a whole, people questioning my masculinity in some kind of bizarre machoistic pissing-contest. Hell, I even got called stuffy.
i think i've already communicated that i don't feel that it should.
keep complaining about what other people post, though. that'll make you REAL popular.

hah, like i want to be popular on the internet...i post on this message board to get ideas across and debate...not to win over some clever or morbid nicknames of people who i will probably never see in my life....if posting dumbass comments make you popular then i can't see myself running for board president
guess who doesn't give a fuck.

Somebody on these boards is learning to stick up for themselves.
Somebody on these boards pretends like he doesn't need the acceptance of everybody else, but would gladly take it were it given to him.
But seriously bro, just lighten up a little bit, and it'll all be cool.
ok, "bro," as if the name "kitty" and the clearly female avatar weren't clear enough, i am FEMALE. thanks.

giuseppe....seriously....chill.
No one likes a hot head on the internet...just in dark alleyways where they turn out to be closet pansies and you end up beating the shit out of them and...but I digress...
My point is this: Going all stellar defensive is retarded, and the target you chose was unwise because A) Kitty can hold her own and B) Most of us like her.

"I was almost Six On Tha Dot. What a mistake that would have been." -- Six On The Dot
I say let Lullaby rest. Sequels are usually a bad idea in the case of such a story-based book or film. Something like Batman, on the other hand, where the film is based mostly around the character and merely details one of his wacky misadventures, lends itself well to sequels...in moderation, of course. You must understand that I'm not in any way condoning Batman and Robin.
Speaking of a)sequels and b)thinking of the children, has anyone else borne witness to the brain-melting horror of American Psycho 2? *shudders* William Shatner, for Christ's sake.
Bah.
hey guys thanks for the love, but i don't really want to repel new people. guiseppe, i'm sorry the ihateaol.co.uk picture battle bled onto your thread.
seriously though i don't think that a continuation, a part 2 if you will, of lullaby would be appealing to me, just because i think that chuck seems to have so many different ideas, and so far each novel has seemed to be such a departure from the last, that i want it to continue.

well im sorry if i came off to harsh its just that i go to alot of boards and am greeted with cynical(? spelling?) remarks and people who bash on everybody....and when i came to this board i expected the opposite.... so when i saw the same actions i got pissed...but you guys seem cool...so sorry if i over reacted...
im just an internet nomad looking for some entertainment...and i guess the sequel( sorry kitty for the word) probably wouldnt work but i still want to know what happens to mona and oyster and helen and carl
If it means anything (and I know, it doesn't), I've decided that all of Chuck's books... at least, the way I choose to look at them... are happening simultaenously. By that I mean, there's a Fight Club starting the same time Brandy and Shannon are cruising America and Tender and Adam and Fertility are hanging out in the bathroom and Victor's getting assfucked with anal beads and Oyster and Mona are moving crosscountry.
So, in my world, there can be no sequels. Because all the books are happening at once. The world is slowly, ever so slowly waking up to the next big thing.
Whatever that ends up being. I'd say it's going to be Nyquil, but you know. That's too obvious. :)
I really don't think lullaby needs a sequel and as I saw it when I was reading the book I pretty much pictured that Carl and the Sarge were closing in on Mona and Oyster and could see them on the horizon, maybe on an embankment on the side of the road were their (Mona & Oyster's) car had miracuously broke down and the Sarge was in the car with Carl removing his gun from the holster which I pretty much inferred what happened next------again, I don't think it says anything like that at the end of Lullaby, that's just the way I pictured it.
"Excuse me sir, Did you wash your hands after you took that big heaping dump. You know that sign, that sign says ALL employees MUST wash their hands after using the restroom, What part of that do you not understand?"- Malcom X
"Would you care to lick my sweaty baulz after they have been dipped in the finest venerial juices and sauteed in my own ass-sweat, madam?"- Winston Churchill
When I asked Chuck about the possibility of a sequel, mainly because of the rumors of the "horror trilogy" that he was doing. He said, and I quote, "You want a trilogy, read Tolkien." I laughed, and of course felt stupid.
"The elite ruling class wants us asleep so we'll remain a docile, apathetic herd of passive consumers, and non-participants in the true agenda of our governments - which is to keep us separate, and present an image of a world filled with irresolvable problems, that they, and only they, might one day, somewhere in the never-arriving future, be able to solve. Just stay asleep, America, keep watching TV." - Bill Hicks
well the answer was spoken from the man himself. Case closed my friends case closed.
We can only dream...
Maybe if I get my hands on the grimoire, I can invade Chuck's body and write it myself.
He he he he he he he he he he he he heeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
I'm not sure that I want one, but it did feel like chuck was setting up Lullaby 2. I loved Lullaby, and I'll read anything else chuck puts out.
P.S. Can we please have less than 90% pictures and bull-shit on the forum. Get a homepage to post your crap on you nerds.
I've always thought if Lullaby was made into a movie and didn't shy a way from the book. If the movie did pretty good. I could see HBO picking it up as a series. (with chuck writing) So it wouldnt be so much as a sequel cause it wouldn't just be a ending to the story. But a on going Story.
'
I think there should be some resolution.... that was a horrible ending.... maybe if it get's made into a movie the ending won't suck so bad.....

There is no need, throughout the course of the book there are flash forwards.
In fact making a sequel would be dumb, it would just be a repeat of what was already in those chapters.
