Sundance - Choke Reviews Start Pouring In

Choke at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival!

Here is our second review out of Sundance for Choke.  I'll post more of these in this News article as they come.

This comes from my man Andrew Greenblatt, who sent us those Blackberry pictures earlier tonight. Here's another, clearer picture from him, along with his review:

Screening was fantastic. The audience was very receptive, laughing where appropriate (or mildly inappropriate as is), and there was a huge round of applause at the end.

As I said before, I haven't read the book in years, but the movie incorporated everything I remembered. Sam Rockwell was incredible, perfect actually. His voiceover was right on point, sarcastic, condescending, apathetic, brilliant. His acting was equally fantastic. Anjelica Huston knocked the role right out of the park, playing Ida at 40 and Ida at 60, another perfect casting job. Honestly, the entire cast was excellent.

Clark Gregg did a fantastic job adapting the script and directing. He really captured the heart of the book and incorporated all the memorable scenes. I really believe you will be pleased, as will other fans of the book. I'm anxious to hear what Chuck thought. I was a little disappointed he didn't participate in the q and a, but they really wanted to separate the picture from the book. Clark did thank him and have him stand for applause.

All in all, it was everything I hoped for. I laughed a ton, and even knowing everything that was coming, the Dr. Paige twist was great.

Lets chat soon

I don't know if its just me, but part of the review is obstructed by the image insert and the quote is making the posts usper wide.

Hey Smartazboy,

The image actually isn't obscructing the review on my end, it just appears that way.  But there's no actual text behind it.  Not sure what you mean though about the post being uberwide.  Could you screenshot it for me?

This is the best I can do. I'm not sure why the color changed in the picture.

Does the same for me too Frank.
Sounds like the movie is pretty awesome, well from what I can read anyways.

Just copy and paste it to a word document. That's what I did.

It's viewing just fine for me. Great news though. I want to see it, it looks great.

Now that I'm on my laptop, it looks fine. I'm sure it had something to do with my work computer settings.

Ritt never showed up. I forgot what state Sundance was in, so the "hitchhiking" plan was aborted.

Next time I guess.

That's odd.  It looks like that news post is expanding far beyond the borders of the page width.

Would you mind showing me a full screenshot of the entire page, from further back?  I think Kirk may want to see that.

I already fixed it, dennis.

did chuck's cameo make it into final edit?

Chuck does have a cameo at the very end, but it might go unnoticed to those who don't know what he looks like.

I could hear a few people around me whispering "hey that's Chuck" so I guess there were some people that noticed.

Here's a link to Daily Variety's review by Dennis Harvey.

He seemed to like it well enough but I think we'll like it better.

er... and if I had read the other thread, I would've seen that someone already posted it.
