submitting my first Chuckshop assignment
Hi, So I have done my 5 reviews and read my first Chuckshop essay about using the head or heart method of gaining your readre's trust. I wrote my little story and am trying to submit it. Only when I try to pick the assignment it will not let me. I can choose the genre and give it a title, but am not sure how to upload my story either. I know you browse your files and just save it, but for some reason I cannot seem to do it. I am blind and use a screenreader to read text. I am thinking it just isn't reading something vital to dooing these things, but it is there. Can anyone advise? Thanks.

Hi silverfish. Martin Barker here again. I was having a similar problem with submitting work and i was assured it was just an error to do with the site itself and not me being incompetent. I imagine it will be the same for yourself. you may know that they have recentley rebuilt the site and its having some teething errors to say the least. I suggest you mail one of the administrators and ask them what to do. Hope this can help.
If you wanna add me on msn. Pm me and we can chat.
Hello Silverfish,
Martin Barker was spot on. A systemic problem that prevented submissions of any kind resurfaced, undoubtedly due to an oversight on my part bordering on total incompetence. On top of that, the Chuckshop has a required Assignment field that had no selectable assignments, as you observed.
I have just completed rigorous testing, and everything, including the Chuckshop, appears to be functioning properly. Please try submitting again, and post here or anywhere else if your problem remains, or you have any others.
In case it helps, when the submission form has been... um... submitted, the same form comes back, the only difference is that there is a little box immediately above it that reads "Your submission has been entered successfully." It's formatted slightly differently, but still in text. I'm afraid I have no experience at all with screenreaders, but if you can tell me the name of the software you're using, I would be more than happy to read up on it or try it myself to ensure that the workshop at the very least is comfortably accessible. (Though if you use a Braille display rather than speech synthesis, it will take me much longer to get the hang of it. :) )
Good luck, and please accept my sincerest apologies about the submission issues.
Clayton
Hi Martin and Clayton. Thanks so much for responding. I am very happy to know I'm not just stupid as I was beginning to believe. Now, if I can actually accomplish this feat of submitting stories I will be patting myself on the back. I will try it again, and if it doesn't work, I'll be back. Clayton, the name of the program is Jaws made by Freedom Scientific. Thanks for your interest. Martin, I really don't use MSN much but would be honored to put you in my friend's list. What is your MSN address? Later.
