Yoshitata Amano’s Mateki: The Magic Flute

I just finished looking at a copy of Amano's new book Mateki: The Magic Flute. The story is based on Mozart's classical opera, entitled Die Zauberflöte. It tells the story in full color illustration about a prince battling evil to rescue his princess. Amano is famous for his work on Vampire Hunter D, Final Fantasy and Neil Gaiman's The Sandman. With this new graphic novel he wonderfully crafts a story full of his visionary artworks. This is a book that will be a classic. It comes out in June '08 for full release.

Thanks for the heads up, he's a fantastic artist.  His stuff in Dream Hunters was pretty fantastic.  Looks like Amazon has it for less than $20.

I'm a big fan of Amano's work and after looking through his new book, Mateki: The Magic Flute, I was once again awed. Hienos artwork is phenomenal in this book!
