misprint??
I think someone posted about this before. it's just a printing error. I'd say take it back to the store for a good copy if you still got the reciept.
in the heat of burning air to watch the naked famele body is insane,
it doesn't increase the value or anything plus you don't get to read the entire story.
I don't think you/ a person should keep it for the monetary value. I think it's just one of those really neat things that you don't always get another opportunity for.
Is it still in relatively good condition? I'd take it back to the store and tell em it was a christmas gift and you want to just exchange it for another copy. if you explain it took you till now to get to page 141 they might hook you up and then you can use the money to buy another chuck book to read next.

Hi,
I always thought it was meant to be there? I thought it was a clue that its a tape recorder. Glitches in the recording or the narrator losing his place and repeating himself.
I couldn't see how it wouldn't have been picked up by the publisher at some point. BTW, I work in publsihing I know typos do happen (bad ones), but they eventually get spotted and fixed.
Been ages since I read it, but if its just a typo it totally blows my theory. Do they appear in every copy? Mine is UK paperback 2003.
Cheers!
I have a misprinted one.
