Take my life, please! (FREE STUFF FOR YOU!)

Okay, so in two weeks, I'm moving, and I have a LOT of stuff to get rid of. Our new apartment is going to be smaller (boooo) but less than 30 seconds walk to the beach (yaaaaay!). Good news for Culties on two fronts: 1) if you ever visit Los Angeles, you can probably crash a night or two at our place, and be near the beach!

Aaaaand

2) I have lots of old stuff to get rid of. Let my loss be your gain! I'll send you whatever you want on this list (which I'll add to as I see fit) and you can have it for the cost of postage (and any donation you'd like to make from 0-1,000,000,000 dollars). Most of it is useless "decorative" stuff that any guy would have: action figures, old books, etc. I was a man-child, wasting money on decorative plastic desk art. If you want pics of anything, or want to call dibs on something, PM me.

For starters, I have:

1. Old Starting Lineup action figures: baseball (tony gwynn, Ricky Henderson -Yankees (I have 2 for some inexplicable reason), Don Mattingly Gary Gaetti, Mark McGwire - A's, Eric Davis, Bret Saberhagen, Mike Schmidt, Benito Santiago, Ryne Sandberg, Andre Dawson, Pedro Guerrero-Dodgers, George Brett, Tony Gwynn), football (BOSWORTH, Lawrence Taylor, Marcus Allen, Karl Mecklenberg, Dan Marino),Hockey (Gretzky - Rangers) . Anyway. Classic sports! How cool is that? You know you want 'em! Not in package. No cards included! Wheee! *TAKEN*

2. Neo and Trinity Action Figures from McFarlane Toys

3. Silent Screamers Movie collection - Nosferatu, Renfield, Dr Caligari, and Cesare (http://www.alexrossart.com/galleries/pubmisc/full/cesare_full.jpg) come on you goth kids! You know you want 'em!

4. A USB flight simulator joystick thing someone gave to me that I never used

5. Random super hero action figures (spider-man, captain america, iron man, more!)*TAKEN*

6.Talking Tony Montana Scarface action figure

7. Books! (coming soon. I'm goign to Book Soup on Sunset tomorrow to see what they'll buy. Y'all can have the dregs of that.)

8. Dr. Evil and Mini-Me action figures

Yeah, I could have thrown it all away, but it didn't seem right. PM me! Get some free stuff bor the cost of a priority mail flat rate box! FUN!

More to come as I clean out the closets...

rent near the beach is ridiculously high. i think you need to up your donation limit to 1,000,000,000,000 dollars.

I will take books! But Dang postage would be high.

i could take some books too after you go to book soup. i don't mind driving to pick them up since we may be in the same area (i'm close to Culver City) so you don't have to worry about boxes and crap. also, if you need help moving, i might be able to help if schedule permits. i know how hard it is to move and you may need an extra pair of hands.

monkeywright
April 10th, 2008

Awesome! I'm actually about 15 minutes from Culver City currently, and I'll be moving 15 minutes on theopposite side next week. I'll let you know on the books...Does NOBODY like action figures? Nobody? Brian Bosworth, people!

UPDATE!

Book Soup apparently does not buy used books, although at the Max Barry reading I sttended there, I bought two used books with "USED" clearly stamped on the price tag. Hmm.

Their loss, your gain! I will put a title list up later today. Also, The Starting Lineup Figures have found a home, so they're off the market! Look what you slowpokes missed out on:

my son might like the super-hero action figures - do you have pics? he has some already, but if they are different, like ironman, don't think he has one of those, or a bigger size, i'd be down

and is there anything you need in return?

monkeywright

Aaaand the superheroes have a home! Who's next?

I would feel bad accepting things without sending a gift in return. Which would probably defeat the purpose of this whole exercise. Ever wanted to be able to say "Hey you see that awesome [insert object here] over there? Yeah, well it's from Australia!"?

if you want, you can take something from monkey and then send me a gift.

It's cool, i talked to him and he said you should send me free things.

I'm getting the Starting Lineup figures.  Just thought I'd gloat and let you all know.

If you feel like paying postage from LA to AUstralia, I will send you whatever you want! Well, as long as it's on my "giveaway" list. You can't have my scientific yoyo, no matter how much you ask.

Also, if you feel like sending something back, that's great too. But you don't have to.

 wait. wait.

wait.

wait.

scientific yoyo?

i am so intrigued right now.

monkeywright
April 13th, 2008

Oh yeah. You want the scientific yoyo? It's an incredible invention. I would explain it to you, but well, it just defies casual explanation by plebes like me. But I can wield it mightily, I can.

glamhoth
April 13th, 2008

Man, I bet people tremble in fear when you go about wielding your scientific yoyo.

OK< sorry bro, I'm stupid.  I was searching threads. ANYWHO, here are two pics.  All of the action figures outside for a hotdog lunch with Ricky and I, and then Ricky holding IRONMAN, his new favorite.  He's 4.5, my little Richard Gordon Thomas IV.  Thanks again, he LOVES them.

monkeywright
April 25th, 2008

Awesome! The second pic looks like Thing and Hulk are having an intense farting contest and have managed to kill Captain America, Punisher, and Ironman with their combined gas.

wickerkat
April 25th, 2008

HAhahahahhahaha - I laughed out loud at that - it DOES - so funny.  He loves them, so thanks.  Just wanted you to know they have found a good home. :-)

BOOKS! Tons of 'em. I think I've dug out enough that tomorrow I may actually be able to post a list, time permitting (couple of big web jobs in the way).

The Silent Screamers action figures are still here, as  is the flight simulator joystick. And possibly more to come (computer games? More? Who knows?)
